Can you use infinity in a subtraction problem?

My brother says that you can use infinity in a subtraction problem,
but it doesn't seem likely. If infitity is an unidentified number, how could
you subtract it from a number, or subtract from it? What is the truth?
You win this argument.
You really can't subtract infinity.
