Yams with Apples
This recipe for yams with apples is one that I fix every holiday, and many times in between. It's quick, easy, delicious, sweet, and healthy. What a combination! Your family will love it.
- 3-6 large yams (or sweet potatoes)
- 2-3 Granny Smith apples
Slice the yams into 3-4 pieces and wrap in foil. Bake at 425 degrees for 1-1/2 - 2 hours until soft. Unwrap the yams and peel the skins off. Mash the yams and place in a covered casserole. Peel and core the apples, cut into small wedges and mix into the yams. Bake the yams and apples for 30 minutes at 350 degrees, until apples are soft.
Optional: Add a sprinkle of cinnamon and nutmeg on top.
