By James M. Schmidt

Jostens Armed Forces Rings

This special rendition of A Night Before Christmas was written by Lance Corporal James M. Schmidt in 1986 while he was stationed in Washington, D.C., according to Snopes.com. It was originally printed in "Leatherneck" magazine.

We received the poem in an email. Since it said to pass it on to as many people as possible, we have set it up as a printable page with a photo from the US Marine Corps.

Our thanks to Colonel Dan, who sent us the correct attribution for this wonderful poem.

A special Christmas salute to all of the troops serving the United States of America.
