Sylvan Dell Publishing has created a special educational resource grant to promote their series of 35 ebooks aimed at the elementary school audience. Their educational resource "grant" allows one elementary school from each of the thousands of districts in the US to receive a year of free access to their online books and resources.
According to Sylvan Dell, "To facilitate submission, individual schools may submit the grant application directly. When more than one school from a single district applies, Sylvan Dell will ask the district contact to make the selection." The online grant application is available at www.SylvanDellPublishing.com/ResourceGrant.htm.
This is obviously a way for Sylvan Dell to get their foot in the door. Once your school has their resources available, they hope that your school will like them so much that you'll pay to keep them the second year and beyond. However, keeping that in mind, your school could still receive some cool resources that you could use for at least a year free of charge. If you are able to password protect a portion of your school's website, you can even make the materials available to students and their parents at home.
If you are interested in extending your school resources for a year at no cost, please apply early. If more than one elementary school applies, Sylvan Dell will choose only one to receive the materials.
