The Iowa Freedom Rock - Interesting Places

This fascinating patriotic painted rock is located in the state of Iowa. ClassBrain received the photos by email. Learn more about it below.

This rock was painted by Ray (Bubba) Sorensen II. The large granite boulder stands next to Highway 25 and according to Freedom Rock, it was mined from the "Schillberg Rock Quarry and it weighs approx. 56 ton (50.8Mg) and is 12 ft (3.7m) high." It's located approx. 1 mile south of I-80 on Highway 25, approx. 37 miles (59 km) west of Des Moines, Iowa in Adair County.
