Philanthrophic Projects for Students

"We've Got Your Back"

ClassBrain was happy to join with Do Something and Nickelodeon in getting the word out about an initiative to collect backpacks stuffed with new school supplies and personal items for the kids affected by Hurricane Katrina. The campaign was called "We've Got Your Back."

How did they do?

More than 60,000 backpacks full of supplies made it to kids who were displaced because of Hurricane Katrina! Way to go everyone!

There may be kids in your area affected by recent floods or fires who could use a hand. If so, why don't you start a local drive to help them get ready for school? You will turn a difficult time into one of caring. To help with other efforts, we'll leave our suggested supply lists online.

Here is our suggested school supply list, which will give you an idea of what you could include in the backpack. This list is recommended for elementary school students.
