An amazing look at an orchestra which plays instruments completely made from vegetables: how the vegetables are turned into the instruments, and the performance with the musicians. This is an amazing video!
They have drums made out of watermelons and pumpkins. A totally awesome carrot recorder. A guiro which is a ridge percussion instrument that is scraped. All sorts of other percussion and wind instruments that are made out of an assortment of vegetables ranging from carrots, zucchini, bell peppers, and more. The carrot and bell pepper trumpet is way cool!
If you have an orchestra class, you might want to suggest trying this with your class. It could make for a fascinating concert, or an intriguing fundraiser. I'm sure there would be a grocery store or two that might like to be a sponsor, if you try it. We'd love to see a video of any groups that give this a try. Just send them to us at thebrains@classbrain.com.
