The Presidential Debates?
Senator McCain and Senator Obama faced off on their first Presidential debate on September 26, 2008, with political analysts opining that neither candidate dominated as a clear winner. The stakes are high in a Presidential race with so many undecided voters.
Questions to Ponder
- Who do you think is winning the debates, Mc Cain or Obama?
- Do you think McCain was being intentionally condescending towards Obama when he repeatedly said that "he just doesn't understand?"
- Did you think either candidate covered the US financial crisis well?
- Make a list for each candidate of which points you felt they won over the other candidate?
- Although the debate is being scored as a tie, according to chron.com, "A CNN poll after the first presidential debate found that 51 percent of viewers thought that Obama was the winner, and 38 percent picked McCain." Do you think the CNN survey correlates with the debate-as-a-tie theory?
