Quotable Salad-loving Teen Will Win Money for College
By Cynthia Kirkeby
Jul 20, 2009, 8:46am

A quotable salad-loving teen will win $500 towards their college education and $500 towards a favorite environmental group from Earthbound Farm, a maker of organic salads. Teens must be 17 or under to compete, and the quotes will appear on the inside of the salad clamshell packages.

The $500 scholarship money will be in the form of a $500 savings bond, so you'll have to wait until it matures to get the full value. However, since kids under 13 can apply with their parent's permission The $500 donation must be chosen from a list of approved environmental groups, including:
  • American Forests
  • Beyond Pesticides
  • Environmental Working Group
  • Healthy Child Healthy World
  • Natural Resources Defense Council
  • Organic Farming Research Foundation
  • Pesticide Action Network North America
  • Union of Concerned Scientists

Four quotes will be chosen in July and one more will be added each month through the end of 2009. The entry is online, so it's simple to enter. Simply visit ebFarms Kids Quote Contest
