ClassBrain and
Education
ClassBrain has established
itself with teachers and school districts across the country and
around the world as a well-respected resource for educators.
The following information will give you a brief example of how ClassBrain
is viewed in the field of education.
GEM Collection
holder
GEM (Gateway to Education
Materials)
GEM has accepted ClassBrain as a collection holder. This special
database was created by the Department of Education to supply "one-stop"
access to collections of Internet-based educational materials available
on various federal, state, university, non-profit, and commercial
Internet sites. This allows teachers to search and locate our materials
(as one example: the ClassBrain State Report Section) directly through
the main database. This database is recommended to instructors by
state and district education departments.
CyberSurfari -Primary Sponsor
ClassBrain is a primary
sponsor of CyberSurfari, a world famous Internet treasure hunt designed
to help students learn to use the Web safely and effectively. Students
visit more than 100 handpicked destinations throughout the Internet
on their quest for information.
Teachers around the world bring their classes online for these competitions.
Clues are hidden across the ClassBrain website (in locations of
our choosing) during three different games throughout the year.
Students then scour various websites, especially those of the primary
sponsors like ClassBrain, to locate clues and find answers. Placement
of the clues allows us to highlight specific areas, or pages, of
our site during each of the games.
ClassBrain Veterans Memories Project- Library of Congress
ClassBrain has signed
on as a partner of the Library of Congress Veterans History
Project. This partnership allows us to be an official collection
agency for stories and historical materials of US Veterans.
Oral history projects are a popular assignment in schools from middle
school through college. By correlating oral history projects and
movies about soldiers and veterans, students can see the link between
gathering information and the preservation of the stories of our
countrys history. The affiliation with of the Library of Congress
gives the teachers added comfort with the resources.
Association of Educational Publishing Member
The AEP is a national
nonprofit professional organization for educational publishers,
fostering excellence in educational publishing and respected by
teachers nationwide.

This amazingly impressive site by ClassBrain, Inc. provides valuable
educational resources for students, parents, and teachers. The site
is equipped with various learning activities and games for students
ranging from grade levels Pre-K to 12. In addition, this site contains
information on world countries and US states. Both the country and
state reports are arranged in alphabetical order and provide data
on history, statistics, maps, geographical information, government,
economy, and much more. This site is a breath of fresh air for those
parents and teachers discouraged by the plethora of untactful Internet
sites currently accessible to children. [MG]
